The Bee Barn of Southeast Ohio is an independant and family run business opening it's doors in 2015.
First and foremost, we are beekeepers ourselves and manage hives at our home and in various apiaries.
We became fans of the honey bee from our very first experience with them and have set out to learn all we can about this amazing insect. We attend as many continuing education trainings as we can and support our local Honey Bee Club, The Mid-Ohio Valley Beekeeepers Association along with The West Virginia Beekeepers Association.
We are also members of the Ohio State Beekeepers Association.
We became frustrated, at times, at not having a local source for bee keeping equipment available, for that time when you need a piece of equipment right now and could not wait for a week or more for an on-line retailer to ship out your needs.
So a plan came together to found an independent full-line beekeeping equipment source right here in the Mid Ohio Valley to help our friends and neighbors with obtaining the equipment necessary for their beekeeping operations. We cater to the home beekeeper with a couple of hives to a sideliner or even commercial operations with hundreds of colonies.
The Bee Barn has found an amazing partner in our business endeavor that supplies us with our Honey Bee woodenware, made right here in Ohio. He offers well made woodenware and even has an option of dipped equipment. The woodenware is dipped in a special recipe of paraffin and resin that preserves the wood for years, without the need for painting. One of the beekeepers least favorite jobs.
The Bee Barn is a local authorized retailer for Honey B Healthy products, OxaVap oxalic vaporizing systems, Bee Designs Inc., the inventor of the Ultimate brand of plastic beeware, Sting Kill among others we keep obtaining.
We also carry other much needed equipment from foundation to mite treatments, as well as bee suits, gloves, hats, extraction equipment and even gifts and fun stuff.
